Plastic Pall rings are one of the cheapest, basic and most widely used types of tower packing. It is made of plastic materials of different sizes. The high aperture is equal to the packing ring. Generally, the central opening area occupies about 30% of the total area. This structure improves the distribution of vapor and liquid, and makes full use of the inner surface of the ring, so that the gas and liquid in the tower can be filled from the free passage. It has the characteristics of high porosity, low pressure drop, low mass transfer unit height, high flooding point, sufficient vapor-liquid contact, small specific gravity, and high mass transfer efficiency. This adjustment significantly improves performance, resulting in increased capacity and efficiency, and also reduces pressure drop across the column. The packing greatly reduces the industrial cost and is a common type of bulk packing in the world today.

 

Plastic pall ring is made from heat resistant and chemical corrosion resistant plastics, including polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), reinforced polypropylene (RPP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), chloridized polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF).It has features such as high free volume, low pressure drop, low mass-transfer unit height, high flooding point, uniform gas-liquid contact, small specific gravity, high mass transfer efficiency and so on, and the application temperature in media ranges from 60 to 150.For these reasons it is widely used in the packing towers in petroleum industry, chemical industry, alkali-Chloride industry, coal gas industry and environmental protection, etc

Plastic pall ring is also called plastic pall ring packing. It is a type of random packing, which modifies directly at the shortcomings of raschig ring. This type pall ring makes some structural improvements on the basis of raschig ring. It adds many small rectangular windows on its wall. The blades of these small rectangular windows join together in the center of the pall ring. The openings on plastic pall ring's lateral wall fully utilize its internal surface area and greatly increase the gas-liquid agitation. Therefore, plastic pall ring has better gas-liquid distribution performance than plastic raschig ring.

 

Plastic pall ring is characterized by high gas velocity, small resistance and large production capacity. It performs well in stripping and scrubbing. This kind pall ring packing has good chemical resistance, it is suitable for various industries, such as chlor-alkali industry, gas industry and chemical industry. It is widely used in carbon dioxide degassing towers, ozone exposure reaction towers, vacuum distillation towers and other reaction towers.
