Ceramic bell rings are also called ceramic bell saddle rings and ceramic bell rings. Ceramic bell saddle rings interlock within the tower to create curved air channels. Easier to break than ceramic Raschig rings. Nests easily, causing channeling and high flooding points. But ceramic bell rings are good for even distribution of liquids and gases and reduce drag. The wall pressure is lower than that of annular random packing, resulting in an even distribution of liquid. Its low pressure drop and high mass transfer efficiency make it one of the most cost-effective types of column packing. Their simplicity and durability reduce operating and maintenance costs while minimizing downtime for cleaning and repairs.
